Floyd at Pompeii- Great Stuff!!!
Just watching the DVD right now. This is the band at it's psychedelic peak. A fun few hours of mind boggling great music.

Yup! Amazing stuff there. And all recorded live, that's the way it's supposed to be!

Re: Floyd at Pompeii- Great Stuff!!!
Truly something special, it's an everlasting document to the golden age of Floyd when they were a truly experimental avant-garde outfit, it's hard to believe that it's, (almost), the same band that became the bloated, lumbering rock dinosaur of the 80s.

Are they those black rectangular things you put in the machines that look a bit like really bulky DVD players and you can see a picture with sound a bit like a DVD but not as good?.

You know it's a video when you need to kick it in order to make it work.

The cinematic version, the video and the director´s cut on the DVD are all different. The DVD version has by far the worst intro(a cheap animation were the previous versions had shots of Pompeii)

Yeah, that looks like something from a Year 8 Science educational video.

Re: Floyd at Pompeii- Great Stuff!!!
You can find detailed info on the different versions here. Funnily the one who´s written this made a very similar remark about the animation.

Recommend the DVD???
I've had the tape for years, haven't watched in a while though,I think the word "historic" sums up this film.
