It's the effect of old age, it's okay, but the guitarist has also something to do with that. emoticon emoticon

Not nearly as much as the producer...

Indeed. He's playing Machine Head every night, added with a few new songs, and has long lost interrest in DP, except for the pay check. He knows, DP will end within a reasonable time, and then, he doesn't have to play music that he doesn't like. But can finally concentrate on making his fusion with the Dixie Chicks and S&M Band.

It's a good plan, and I wish him the best of luck. Either, he'll pull it off or he won't. There's no doubt he's a good player, just not a good Rock player.

Unlike Jazz and fusion, rock is not supposed to be boring twiddly twid, it's supposed to grab your balls, and make you wanna scream. It's supposed to make your parents try to forbid you to listen to them, it's supposed to get Jazz musicians to scream out of hatred. It's supposed to be good. Vibrating and down to earth. It's supposed to make women want to stay away, but bitches are welcome.

The saddest day in the history of DP, was when they decided to reunite in 1984. They should have let the legend live, now it's dead. It's nice to have a clear hindsightemoticon.

Granted, DP came close in 1993 (If Gillan just hadn't ruined his voice, oh one can dream forever.)

And granted, the Concerto tour in 2000, was marvellous. But that was for the Orchestra thing, that they pulled of well, but it didn't reach the 1969 premeire, not one bit. That Blackmore solo..............it's simply worth the whole DVD. Can't say that, of any single SM solo ever. And can't say that about one single Blackmore solo since 1979.

Rock fans in general, aern't haters by nature...

Friends, you... that has to be nothing but a dream for you, since it's not your nature to have even the most remote desire to be fiends with anyone here, it goes against your purpose for being here, and that is your own admittion, so why try and convince one sole in here of such nonsense?

Here is one...

I'm glad he has your trust, I haven't been shown such courtesy, not from a lack of trying though.
And I didn't start the garbage between us, that was all his doing... 100%, from a lack of general ability to share these boards, with any one who opposes to him, it's kind of like a disease, it spreaded like wildfire, and thats the effect, from his cause, he is the sole carrier here.

I don't dislike the man, it's the other way around, and it's been expressed to me directly, that this is the case, and no desire to switch gears, has ever been anywhere near in sight.

What is one to do????

Agreed on the Blackmore solo in '69.

Couldn't disagree more that there are no memorable solos from SM or Blackmore after '79. That's just plain silliness. Blackmore and to a lesser degree Morse have had magical moments from the 80's on...Blackers still sounds good to me in BN....when he's actually playing the Strat....

You remind me of a cranky old man who believes there hasn't been a good movie made since John Wayne died...

It reminds me of bald men arguing over a comb. Some think it worthy, some don't.

What solo has Blackmore made, that is worth the purchase of the DVD it is on? Only 1 solo, and it shall be worth the purchase of the DVD on which it is released. Then the same question about Steve Morse.

Re: With ROTD...ROCK RULES!!!

It's just hilarious to think that Mr. has heard every single last one of either of their solos... I don't know about Morse, but it doesn't seem so, just because the ones he's heard, sound like one big repetitive solo altogether... thats always worth a laugh, but I'm absolutely positive that he Hasn't heard every single Blackmore studio solo, and live, well thats a no brainer... I'd wage alot of money on it, that he still won't for years to come, if he ever does... I doubt he has the resources to even track them down, let alone obtain the ability to hear them, I don't care if it's Purple he's talking about, it's a rediculous generalization, and a false one, atleast considering Blackmore, but I lean toward the same considering Morse, and I don't even know all of his solos... don't get caught up in what you don't like, especially when there is plenty you don't know of the artists in question, and you won't have to waste your energy on it, or anyone elses, for that matter. emoticon(sound advice?)
This isn't based on anyones opinion, I know what it takes to obtain the recordings.
I hope the length of this, fills the entire hole, but it probably doesn't, cause the hole is too big.

Maybe we should changed the name of this section to "The Happy People Section" and below is written "Where Nice and Happy People Converge". emoticon
