Backwards "e"
What about this backwards "e" on the album cover?
I thought about this same theory on S&M when they had the logo bent slightly,I can remember thinking it was due to them admitting that this isn't Deep Purple to the full extent,but with a twist.
Same concept crosses my ming here,that either Roger or someone in the art dept,had this type of idea,to put the slant on the slant if you know what I mean.

Several (most?) of their album covers have been self-parodying, in some cases, but almost always reflexive to some extent.
TBRO -- a dinosaur chasing its own tail.
_|_ -- assumed dead, but still erect.
There's almost certainly some sort of self-reference in their current artwork, though probably not meant as anything to be taken too seriously.

to me it looks like two faces talking to each other, and reminds me somewhat of Pink Floyd's Division Bell cover.
