Wowzeee!
Still listening to it ALL THE TIME. Still loving it! Fantastic album. Only PS and Purpendicular compete against it since the reunion. Still not sure who wins. The others stand NO CHANCE. Not even in the same league.
Post whatever the hell you want about Steve's widdlin, Gillan's smokin', Glover's bandana, blah blah blah, yada, yada, yada. This is one amazing output from the band.
Ok, fine, Girls Like That should've been scratched (Things I Never Said should absolutely have replaced it). Wrong Man features Steve's best guitar sound but one of Gillan's lesser vocal performances. Everything else is a pure gem. A GEM I TELLS YA!
For those who hate it, well as Ronnie once said "If you don't like ROTD Rock'n Roll, well it's too late now". Waaaaay too late.

Oh, I think it would have been a good album if not for Glover's bandana. And Gillan sounds better with short hair!

But seriously, more power to Carramba, and anyone with the guts to go there....
This might be an interesting topic,as long as people don't make a big deal about it.

Re: Wowzeee!
Still listening after a month. Still liking it a lot! I usually listen superficially at first, then I dig into the detail and structure. I noticed few things after listening more.
1. I like Steve's contributions. He has a bit more edge and his rhythm playing in DLG and JB is really cool. If you listen carefully you can here little "mystical" touches he adds now and then. Either I didn't notice it on Bananas or it wasn't there. Yes there is some widdle but not too bad. Much of his lead work is a bit more restrained and just seems to fit better.
2. At first I thought Paice was just going through the motions. After listening a bit, I conclude that I was wrong. He really plays well and adds some nice touches.
3. Gillan is singing quite well. I really like Wrong Man and MTV.
4. This recording is best enjoyed LOUD! Try it.
5. There really aren't any songs I skip over on ROTD. There is something I like in all of them. Money Talks is the one I like least but I don't see any songs as filler.
It really is a treat to hear new DP and I hope to see some of ROTD Live.

Re: Wowzeee!
DP are miles ahead of what they ever were,in the rhythm department.
This is an area overlooked by MKII purists, and that could be a case of a lack of respect for this,or just plain old taste excuses, cause it can't be argued about much...not liking rhythm is no excuse for not recognizing leaps of improvement and growth.
Steve Morse brought this element, and deserves credit for it,and the band desreves[ed] credit for welcoming it,and thriving on it as a major strength imo.

Re: Wowzeee!
I aboslutely agree with you about the ryhtm section. The more I listen to the record the more I appreciate Roger and Steve for their output in this area. Roger in particular is the star of the album together with Don.

Re: Wowzeee!
Not listened to it for 4 or 5 weeks, and don't have any inclination to right now. Good album, but doesn't make me want to spin it too often.
