"I feel that this is one of the silliest songs by DP"

I love this song, especially the solos.
If you are lookong for really weak and silly songs by DP, consult House of Blue Light or Slaves and Mastersemoticon

That's a fresh angle...

Anyway, I like B2B, silly as it is.

Re: Back To Back...

It's a good song. So is Girls Like That. There just weaker in comparison to Before Time Began, Junkyard Blues and other tracks.

Picking up an earlier thread, there were some interesting ideas on HOBL and SM. But like most Blackmore era DP, it's some great stuff (Strangeways, Bad Attitude) sandwhiched around garbage like Hard Lovin Woman and Call of The Wild.

By the way Rezi, I have a soft spot for Razzle Dazzle so I know how you feel. "I'm working on my thinking and I'm thinking it's improving" is one of my favorite Gillianisms.

Star City, I agree on Razzle Dazzle. It's my favourite tune on Bananas along with Doing It Tonight. I hated RD first, but damn it's catchy!

I also agree about 'the garbage' of the HOBL era (S&M was far more profilic IMO - and that's not mockery, it's a decent album with few misses but also few hits).

I must be a true fan, 'cause I love Call Of The Wild, Hard Lovin' Woman, Razzle Dazzle and Back To Back. Silly stuff is what makes Purple so special.

Oh yeah, I also love these...

One more rainy day, anyone's daughter, painted horse, you can't do it right...

To each their own I guess.

The most 'addictive' song run for me on the album starts at DLG, goes through B2B and KTG, and ends with MTV.

They aren't necessarily the 'classics' of the album, but they are all so pleasant to listen to ALL THE TIME. BTW all have excellent solos as well.

It seems that way,but I wouldn't quite call it patchy, just more musically dynamic than vocally, especially the chorus.

Same goes for DLG,only the music saves it so well, but I'd not like it without some kind of vocals, but these choruses are cheesy for the most part, especially in MTV..which I still can't play much,do to that...maybe later...

KB,is that fair enough for you,it's no different than I've been expressing about this album, which by your comments, you seem to have missed.
But why should anyones feelings about this line up and ROTD sum up their overall approach to posting on these boards as far as you're concerned?

Fair enough, Micstand emoticon

Don't Let Go has another good line...

Be yourself, I tell myself, but myself tells me I can't be anybody else.

I love this funky little tune.

I'd also be into hearing them take a crack at this live, could be pretty good,so far what I've heard of KTG live...not too great, performe a half step faster, like chasing each other,Gillan singing ahead of the rest,me no likey.
