Back To Back...
...they faced each other - LOL!
I love Don's solo in this one. The synth adds that 70's superfly feel. Very nice! Hope to hear it live!

Re: Back To Back...
This is one of my favorites on the albun. Morse's solo also smokes. Best instrumental work second to only Junkyard Blues.

Re: Back To Back...
They came alive during the solo section...choice playing from the two soloists, fab intensity there, and the synth breaks combined with the moog solo reminds me a bit of Yes meets Floyd meets Gillan bands Floydian keyboard work.
...how confused I have to confess my feeling never goes away...

Re: Back To Back...
It's growing on me a little....although I keep showering...:-)
The solos are very good but the Moog sound is annoying...the chorus is weak and the lyrics are the weakest on the LP.
Still love Rapture....the one song that I'm tiring of is Wrong Man....just sounds so much like 10 other Morse era songs....

Re: Back To Back...
Not a good song in my mind. Weak, but there are a few solospots that sounds good.

Re: Back To Back...
It seems that way,but I wouldn't quite call it patchy, just more musically dynamic than vocally, especially the chorus.
Same goes for DLG,only the music saves it so well, but I'd not like it without some kind of vocals, but these choruses are cheesy for the most part, especially in MTV..which I still can't play much,do to that...maybe later...
KB,is that fair enough for you,it's no different than I've been expressing about this album, which by your comments, you seem to have missed.
But why should anyones feelings about this line up and ROTD sum up their overall approach to posting on these boards as far as you're concerned?

Re: Back To Back...
I feel that this is one of the silliest songs by DP. It must be because of the lyrics and the wonderfully 'non-existent' chorus (one chord rapping bit, I call it).
The Moog sound is awesome!

Re: Back To Back...
Yea Rezi, that chorus sounds like poor white funk to me...and had it been the late 70's would have been a good laugh for many a funkster...
