Couldn't agree more. To hear CQA live would be a real treat.

If DP could keep the quality from the 70s all the years from 72 (69) to now, they would have the same status as say Zep and The Who, and probably be "automatic sellers". I really think so. The thing is, those who can "piss on a cd and still sell" very, very seldom piss on their albums...:-) But when they do - on the 26th album - yes, people get fooled..
I´d like to say to you one thing! Don´t forget, that The Who aren´t (are NOT!) WORLDWIDE phenomen! Yes, they are respected as great rock band from 2nd half of 60s, but you can forget that they would sold out the stadiums or ice hockey halls during european or world tour. They just play in that states, when they KNOW that their concerts are huge and sold out. That´s almost the SAME situation like Deep Purple. They could say "we are playing in theatres in US, stop do "destroy" our reputation of huge band with playing for two thousand and smaller crowd", but they´ll NEVER do that. Why? Because they LOVE playing live and you might not believe me, but for many bands it´s pleasure to play in small places for "small" crowd instead of 15 or 20 thousand people! DP have that chance to play European Tours, South America concerts, Japan concerts (with good promotion) etc and they still are the band which CAN say "at least 7.000+ or 10.000+ arenas", but they will never do that, just because they LOVE playing live in ALL type of places.

Re: Clearly Quite Absurd
It's the best tune on the album and one of Purple's all time best ballads.
The other songs of Rapture (except the title track and Wrong Man) didn't please me at all, sorry!
--- Let there be ahoy.
