If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck...Put the songlist where your mouth is, Ian!!! Take some chances! Play SOTW, HS, and Hush, and then make the rest of the show Mork-Morse songs already.

Not sure I agree,as they could very well be sending the same complaint through the music,to MANAGEMENT and PROMOTERS....I can tell you one thing...standing in a promoters face, and telling them what you're all about, means Jack squat to them,as they have no care for who it is that put them where they're at today, and can if they want, have you flattened and never working the B circuit again...much less ever be thought of as an A circuit act again.

They've been on the B circuit since THOBL.
That circuits bread and butter is FAMILIARITY,plain and simple.

I'm listening to this song since a couple of months and what a fantastic song it is!!!

I get shivers all over. This is one of the best songs (with many others of course) of Deep Purple all time!!!!!!

Can't get enough of it.

As a classical musician, I have to say that the above para is bollocks! emoticon

I think a lot of non-Purple people and media types are stuck with a DP image of a monolithic heavy-metal band, which we all know is preposterous. Sadly, as we see everywhere, untruths can become the truth by repetition and perpetuation - people are easily gulled.

Preposterous, they indeed are, and it keeps them from going there with any means to listen to their current material, supposing they've already been there and done that, which sadly has them not rating them today, other than to say they aren't interested, what a fool believes... the Purple wise man has the power... emoticon

That reminds me of the Spinal Tap bit...

"That a pretty song"

"Yeah it's a combination of Mozart and Bach. Sort of like Mach."

"What the name of the song?"

"Lick my love pump."

I'm not a huge expert on classical music but I've not ever heard Mozart's music described as "safe."

If i take the Beethoven/Motzart analogy at face value and except the generalizations, then it works. Especially for MKII. Now I see DP as more Bach-esque - subtley complex transcendence.
