Ha! SM still using 5150 I see...
Thanks for the 30 sec. video clip (see other post below). It is interesting to see SM with a Marshall in the studio and if you look carefully there is a 5150 amp on stage (turned away from the audiance to the camera/group).
I love my 5150 amp!!

...so do others apparently...check Hordes Of Locusts by Joe Satriani...DrFeelgood by Motley Crue..and of course Ted The Mechanic by you know who...all kyped Eddies riff from what song?
They all try to disguise it by either speeding it up or slowing it down, adding more or less bass with it,but it's clear as day to me.

Re: Ha! SM still using 5150 I see...
What's so great about Eddie then? His teqnicue, the fast runs, the high pitch notes or his lack of feeling?
Someone is going to kick me in the head for that one...

Someone probably will. But not me.
Eddie never impressed me.

He will never impress me either- he haven't done to this day! It's like...you know...you seldom get very impressed watching the mailman delivering the mailor watching the caretaker....erhm...take care!
It's, for the most part, boring!

Steve was doing most of his technique before Eddie hit the scene, fwiw. The fast runs inspired by John McLaughlin's work,no doubt.Finger tapping has been around for ages as well.Eddie did a great ape of Quadrant 4 on ,I think Hot For Teacher.

Re: Ha! SM still using 5150 I see...
Lots of guys with equipment deals use other stuff , when they are not on camera. Its also quite common to have their favorite amp transplanted into the required chassis. Its a fact that many of the "Marshall users" over the years have had them completely changed , or a different amp installed , RB too , I think ?
Same with all the signature guitars , its mostly complete BS....
