Re: Rapture sales..

Just another reason to realize, that the IRAA has had their heads up the asses forever and a day now, believe me, they aren't a reliable information source.

It's like they do piece work, getting around to nothing much at the end of the day, if they don't know about it, it doesn't exist to them, and that is a sad fact, I do not recommend them to anyone!

Fireball and InRock just went gold here in recent years, according to their stupid asses, failing to mention, they're the Anniversery editions.

I fully agree. "Shades" and "TBOT" both went gold but are never listed as doing so. Same with the singles Hush and Kentucky Woman.

Keep this in mind about the RIAA's certifications: they don't just sit around monitoring sales of every album and then issue a certification when sales hit a certain level. They issue certifications when an audit of sales of an album is requested and paid for. An album could sell 10 million copies in the US and never even get a gold certification if the record company doesn't pony up the cash to have the audit done.

You can read about the certification process here: http://www.riaa.com/gp/certification/default.asp

It does explain alot, and only furthers my point... reliability must be properly seeked, and this source, is not always the place to get accurate figures, becuase of that, but there is a reason for everything, and I'm not knocking them all the way, as I do happen to have quite a few Gold, and Platimnum certified DP records, a variety of them, they're treasurable items, believe me.

Yes he did... over 500000 copies or so.
They do sell good in Germany, Russia and fair in rest of Europe.
Don't know about Japan these days though.

If these sales figures are right, that the last two has sold more than half a million each, i'd say they sell quite good..!

The latest BN album (whatever it's called) went gold in Russia in a few weeks after release... wonder if ROTD fared the same route.
