Deep Purple signs with Edel records...
Check the Highway Star...
Anyways..They've signed with the label that also has David Hasselhoff on it...
This doesnt include the U.S. though..Hopefully they sign with someone more well known here.

Re: Deep Purple signs with Edel records...
I dont think anything is changing in regard to the U.S. deal. It's just the deal with EMI that has come to an end.
Other than D Hasselhoff, the only other name I recognize in the Edel line up, is Kool and the Gang!

Blackmore's Night were on Edel originally, weren't they? Don't know if they still are.

Aye, that rings a bell. Didn't have a CD at hand to check.
Any reason why they left Edel?

Could be wrong but I remember Ritchie saying that Edel never promoted their first album properly plus that they were too small a company anyway. Doesn't sound too good for Purple actually does it?

Re: Deep Purple signs with Edel records...
So what, they've been with a major label (EMI) and they didn't promot them, why not try Edel and see if they can do a better job. Besides, juding from the act on Edel that are mentioned here Purple are sure as hell going to be Edels biggest act and that means alot of PR money.
