Re: Saxon DVD review
Ali, yes they did quite a few good songs in their heyday, perhaps a bit simplistic and monotonous in the long run but always with a good melody. They have some truly underrated hard rock gems in their song catalogue. Of course most of these bands (Saxon, Motorhead, AC/DC) can be somewhat straining taken in overdoses, but always fun to listen to and always very melodic and in Saxon's case that's what saves them.

Re: Saxon DVD review
I'm not a bloody clairvoyant.
Will there be more good songs written? - probably yes, in every genre, there's nothing that stands against it.
Will we hear them? - almost certainly not, there's a whole stack of reasons why.

Re: Saxon DVD review
The bad thing about Saxon is that they never managed to come up wioth record of the same level as, for example Number of the Beast or British Steel. Each album of theirs contains a few great tracks a few OK tracks andd 30% filler.
But the GOOD thing is this DVD: the Wacken concert simply rocks! Biff and the boys deiver a great performance (vocals especially!) and this stuff is at least equal to Rock in Rio in the music department. Too bad the videos are of criminal quality. I can't understand - don't they have the masters to their own promo vids?

Re: Saxon DVD review
What a bloddy idiot!!!
"Who in the wide wild world of wet nurses is still a fan of Saxon? Or better yet, what Neanderthal or neophyte metalhead, when faced with the plethora of P.O.D.s and lunchboxes of Limp Bizkit, still longs to see a group of aging old English farts drone on like dinosaur turds?"
This guy definetly doesn't have fuckin clue about what he's talking about!! Saxon are great!!!
