My reasoning: What we see is a "Mr Jones" (to talk a bit Dylanesque), a Mr Anyone, who's lost his natural shape. He's been pulled here and pushed there, and looks weird and out of place. Seeing his true reflection would most certainly make him feel bad.
But this guy don't see his true reflection. What he see is a reflection where weird things turn straight, and straight things turn weird. This image lies, but it is how the weird guy want to see himself, and it makes him happy, confused and happy. Not able to catch up with reality, he rather spend his time staring at a false image of himself, an image that shows how he want to see himself.

"Rapture Of The Deep" is not to be taken literally, it's a state of mind, a false and actually dangerous happiness, that may occur in many forms. A simple drawing sums it up. Or at least it may have you take a moment of your time (inside your mind). Give it a thought!
