Seeing him with Crazy Horse would be as great, no matter what he does, it´s all brilliant! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Milan Fahrnholz)Tue, 24 Feb 2004 15:16:27 +0000 Re: Neil Young all accesshttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p13810,from=rss#post13810https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p13810,from=rss#post13810Neil Young is on my 'must see before I die' list! I'd love to see him in a Crazy Horse setting too. The band just rock. Recently got American Stars n Bars and listening to Like A Hurricane still blows me away as it did when I furst heard it on Live Rust! Greendale is a good album, but he has such a varied back catalogue that I'd be love to see him perform a few classic tunes. Still, he could play Down By The River for an hour and a half, and I'd go home happy! Glad you had a good night!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Rahul)Tue, 24 Feb 2004 13:41:34 +0000 Re: Neil Young all accesshttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p13809,from=rss#post13809https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p13809,from=rss#post13809To add a point about the setlist, Greendale isn't so bad but I got lost counting how many songs from it he played I think it was 10 but it bounced me off the trail of songs a bit. There weren't enough great classics played for an average fan like me to find it all that memorable as far as what he played goes. The stage setting seemed to reflect upon his new movie.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gillans micstand)Sun, 22 Feb 2004 22:41:08 +0000 Re: Neil Young all accesshttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p13808,from=rss#post13808https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p13808,from=rss#post13808My head is much clearer now,due to the coffee which I normally detest. The show was rollicking,I love the melodic folkie Neil but Crazy Horse is the vehicle I prefere because of the much more rocking approach. I would reveal a setlist if I could remember exactly what was played song for song.I was in a dinner suite at the top round of the arena for most of the show, as the show neared the end,my buddy Lowell came and directed us down to the side entrance of the stage, there we stood and watched the last song and encores. I was thrilled to do that,Neil and the band fed off the crowd and the intensity seemed to never let up until the house lights came on.It was an allround completely splendid show. Aferwards things were very mellow backstage, the drummer was a cool guy,I don't know his name but he had the most energy after the show as far as enthuseasm for the limited amount of people in the room, the dressing room area was totally off limits to all. This isn't always the case and I was begining to wonder if Neil had made a dash for the bus. He finally came out and was not very cordial to the situation,he was very exausted and didn't say much,he happily signed stuff for people but was overall very shy and eager to cut out of the proceedings. During a conversation he was having with some of what appeared to be huge fanatics he spoke of the allstar jam he did at the R&R HOF with Jimmy Page and others. I had a chance to get a word or two in and told him he was actually honered with two awards that night, his induction and the winner of the guitar stutter function. He was the best one at this sort of technique during that jam,JP(Jimmy Page) and JP(Joe Perry) had nothing on him that night and were merely mocking him with their annoying level of same technique. Anyway it was a champaigne catered aftershow and I drank a large amount of it,thanks to a well put together party. Things only lasted about an hour and twenty minutes before security made their move. I had to wait for Lowell to finish up before I could leave though, this was the worst part of the whole thing, anyone that was with his party had to do this because security was to busy escorting everyone out of the building. A tedious but tolerating ending to a smashing event. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gillans micstand)Sat, 21 Feb 2004 23:56:18 +0000 Neil Young all accesshttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p13807,from=rss#post13807https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p13807,from=rss#post13807Well I had an interesting time tonight. I can't focus clearly enough to go into details right at the moment, nothing some sleep won't take care of. Some kind of proper summery of the show and the after shows proceedings coming later on Saturday... nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gillans micstand)Sat, 21 Feb 2004 11:52:25 +0000
