Re: Half a year later...
I don´t find the production work to be all that disturbing. I think it´s okay and prefer it to that over Bananas just because it has less "gimmicks"(effects like the vocals on CQA appear more often on Bananas Songs).
And the material is still first class.

Re: Half a year later...
I still haven't bothered buying it as I was scared off by Bananas and Abandon. I will get it soon though... I think.

You will like what you hear, it is a good album, no doubt about it imo.

Re: Half a year later...
I like it as an album, just not a Deep Purple album. It rarely rises above a plod. Having said that, it is a big improvement on Banana's.

ROTD is their best since at least Perfect Strangers and my opinion is that that´s their best since Machine Head.

Re: Half a year later...
Purpendicualr and ROTD are real close...I like one better one week the other the next...I do think they are the best DP recordings since Mark2a....slight better than the uneven but occasionally brilliant PS.

Re: Half a year later...
Why does everyone hate morse? In my personal opinion he is actually better thanBlackmore ever was. he brings a whole new edge to deep purple that they were losing by the battle rages on. Purpendicular and rapture are some the finest albums they have ever made even abandon which every1 seems to hate i htink is close to being a classic. Anyone agree with me?

Re: Half a year later...
I understand how some feel, but I don't think he's necissarily wrong for the job, and don't see how any so called "rock" guitarist that I can think of, that would have lasted this long with them, which would have likely resulted in their demise by now, had they chosen one.
