I was under the impression that a Limited Edition within Europe was going to happen, but that wouldn't automatically discount the track being on the North American release.

According to the EMI Canada info, ROTD will have all 12 songs...

Yeah, that was the tentative tracklist before the official one was published.

It's a little bit of surprise that the CD has "only" 10 songs on it, as Purpendicular, Abandon and Bananas ALL had 12 songs.

The songs are suppose to be longer with more jamming on them. That's why there would be fewer songs.

Bananas was 51 minutes with 12 songs. Rapture Of The Deep is already 50 minutes with 10 songs.

It has 10 songs and is almost to the second has long as The Battle Rages On.

I wish they´d used the advantages of the CD one day and make a 75 minute long album.

The question is, do they have 75 minutes of good material? If they cut it down to 50 quality minutes, then I'm ok with that.

Personally I don't think the current line up has more than 30 quality minutes!

And even then that's only as long as they cut out all of the widdly, wibbly guitar and one finger piano solos.

Erm, Machine Head had... 7 !!!

To be honest, quality counts rather than quantity!

A little word of advice my friend...

Your bias (not to mention closed mind and ears) is all too apparent against the Morse line-up.

I once saw a fan being ejected from a Purple gig for this very same brand of fanatacism.

If you don't like them then fine - but there is really no need at all to keep ramming it down everyone elses throats - many of whom enjoy/appreciate the current line-up.

I have always liked the Rising album - even though I may find it somewhat "dated" in places now - but I wouldn't keep going on a board to ram this down other people's throats at every opportunity.

If you don't like something then fair enough - but you should keep extreme views to yourself.

Enjoy your music - and especially Rainbow and the Rising album which you quote Stargazer from.

And if someone is enjoying something you are as well to let them enjoy it!
