Re: Favorite live version of "Mistreated"

'Perks And Tit' has the best guitar-opening easy, but overall, I'd say 'Live In London' is pretty good.

well I've been studyingthe live mistreated
version to decide what to adopt for my purple cover band.
rainbow 1977 in dortmond is great
live in the heart of a city is great
nothing live like MIE

but nothing like the original from burn.

I always prefer cover bands to base their interpretation on the original studio version, simply because any live version is just an interpretation of the original studio version anyway. The one possible exception to this IMO is the MIJ version of Smoke because I always felt thats what the studio version should have sounded like.

Speaking of Mistreated, I wonder if Purple Records are still going to release Saarbrucken and Graz shows of 1975. I'd love to hear both but especially the former in its entity.

I was listenng to a Rainbow bootleg last night - Osaka, Dec 5, '76... Excellent, soulful singing and incredible playing at the last part of Mistreated by messrs Dio and Blackmore - my favorite version by a mile!

I'm one year and a half late in contributing to this thread, but there it is! emoticon emoticon

Great to see you again, Xavier!

Speaking of Rainbow versions, I love the bits on Tower of Babel. Especially how RB plays on the fast parts. I don't recall he ever played the end solo like that in concert.

It's a toss up for me: Rainbow Live in Munich '77 or California Jam.

I think San Diego Sports Arena 1974 has one of the best versions.
