The Darkness 26th and 27th November 2004 Glasgow SECC Hall 4
I'm not one for writing reviews but those 2 gigs were great. I know alot of people on the forum don't like The Darkness but they are seriously worth checking out. They play for just over an hour and a half with a set list that contains a few new songs which are great. Some of the new songs involve keyboards and an acoustic guitar, great stuff !
Seriously people you should check them out if they are playing near you

I think I am seeing them tomorrow night!
I thought their studio album was decidedly average. Pretty bad in fact!
But I'll reserve judgement until I see them live.
What were Do Me Bad Things and Ash like?

Do Me Bad Things were shocking, decent guitarist though. 3 female backing singers and 2 male singers who swap after each song. One of them thinks he is Freddy Mercuary and his clothes just tells you he's gay. They are worth going to see just so you can get near the front for The Darkness.
Ash were decent enough. I enjoyed most of their songs. Decent enough support
The Darkness were amazing though. I hope you go Rahul ! Tell me if you enjoyed it

Re: The Darkness 26th and 27th November 2004 Glasgow SECC Hall 4
I saw The Darkness this summer and it was very average. The drummer couldn't keep one single rhythm right, he got faster and slower the whole time. Between the songs they always played some uninspired things on the guitar, very boring.
But as it seems they were better in Glasgow...

Got me tickets!
I've heard a Do Me Bad Things single called Time for Deliverance, that sounded alright!
Thought they may be quite promising!

Hey mate,
Highly entertaining gig!
You just can't help but warm to them, because they do put on a good show!
It's more pantomime than rock show, but if you can accept that, then I think it's good fun!
Not high on musical merit, but a fun night out. And Justin Hawkins does, much to my surprise, make an excellent frontman.
I wrote a review here , if you are interested!
Not the best gig I've been to, nor the worst. Just a really fun night out.

I think that's one of your best reviews!
You're very complimentary to them, while at the same time convincing me that I was right not to see them. Nicely-balanced writing
