Bowie at the SECC Glasgow 28-11-03

Set off for Glasgow last night thinking, will this be worth £46 ? and can Bowie still ccut it live ?

The simple answer to both is.....YES !! emoticon

The gig was awesome, almost 2 hours and 30 minutes long, packed with hits from start till finish.

In terms of both sound and audience this was the best I have heard in "The Shed". Probably made all the better as this was the last date on the current tour.
From set opener Rebel Rebel to the final note of Ziggy Stardust it weas one hell of a show. Tha backing band were awesome featuring the talents of Earl Slick (he who played on Coverdale's Into The Light) along with the rest, they did justice to every song played, a set list that included Starman, Changes, Fashion, Ashes To Ashes, China Girl, Let's Dance, The Man Who Sold The World, Fame, Life On Mars, Young Americans, Under Pressure, Loving The Alien, The Jean Genie, Suffergette City, sitting well among the hits were newer tunes such as Hallo Spaceboy, Little Wonder, Heathen and New Killer Star.

I must admit to having never seen Bowie live before, and pre-show wondered how good an actual singer he was. I was more than pleasantly surprised as he seldom fluffed a note, and had the crowd in the palm of his hand, a crowd which at times reached fever pitch.

Bowie also announced that he would play t-in-the park next year, so I shall look forward to that, and can only hope that some nice person out there bootlegged last night's show.

Thanks Martin. My sisters were at the gig and both said it was fantastic, but they're died-in-the-wool Bowie fanatics, so it's good to see an objective review.

T In The Park sounds interesting.
