If I'm not mistaken I think Yngwie's quit smoking too and I don't remember him sticking fags in the guitar headstock last year like in his 98 DVD. Great vocal performance btw. I noticed Yngwie's vocals are better than ever too.nondisclosed_email@example.com (ALightInTheBlack)Tue, 02 Aug 2005 01:01:54 +0000 Re: Letter to Doogiehttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p1346,from=rss#post1346https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p1346,from=rss#post1346Speaking of that album, it's finally out in the US today!!!! I wonder if Best Buy will have it, as my brother gave me a nice gift card just for being one of the groomsmen at his wedding. I've only heard a couple of previews...it's been a long six months, I need some new tunes to work out to. NO Fair enough then. It's a shame. Maybe in time he will settle down. Thanx for the reply. The track was Locked & Loaded I believe. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ritchies Strat)Tue, 26 Jul 2005 19:04:03 +0000 Re: Letter to Doogiehttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p1343,from=rss#post1343https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p1343,from=rss#post1343  Is there any way you can convince the Widdle-Master to play his solos and fills with substance rather than repeated wibbling? I like that. Actually you are right - the solos are all the same - I actually must admit that I am/was a 'hard-core' fan of Yngwie but the last 2/3 albums were repeats or repeats - endless widdlism (it certainly is a catchy word...) and I refuse to buy them as they were not good at all - I do like Dougie's voice (so if you are reading this then hats off to you for your singing and perseverance) - but yeah, Yngie is so much into his own 'branding' that he has not taken his talent anywhere - Hendrix would have moved on if he had not died - and that is bad for Yngwie because people are already saying 'Yngwie was the boring and extremely arrogant neo-classic one...' - actually he needs to die right now to have his legacy preserved - hey Yngwie! Lie down and die or play reggae properly! nondisclosed_email@example.com (waldo)Mon, 25 Jul 2005 10:40:13 +0000 Letter to Doogiehttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p1341,from=rss#post1341https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p1341,from=rss#post1341 Last Friday night, on Eddie Trunks nationally syndicated show here in the US, he spoke briefly about and played a new tune from the upcoming Yngwie lp. I forgot the name of the tune but it's track one. It had a great feel to it, you sounded better than ever, including much different than I've heard you on SIUA, heavier actually. The tune really rocked and shows that Widdleview still knows how to write a really good, classical progression. But when it got to his solo, I just had to start laughing out loud, which might have looked a bit strange since I was alone at 2:00 am in my car driving home from work. It was the same solo played throughout his Rising Force and Marching Out lp's and the reason I gave up on him after listening to two songs in on the 2nd lp in the first place.  Is there any way you can convince the Widdle-Master to play his solos and fills with substance rather than repeated wibbling? It would go a long way to giving his music more credibility than the 80's flash shredding (unless of course you're also a fan of Morse and the MK-Morse Deep Purple, also widely known as MK-Smiley)that he made infamous.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ritchies Strat)Sun, 24 Jul 2005 14:35:23 +0000
