WA Argus-------revisited
I've had time to reflect now, upon recieveing it in the mail weeks ago,I instantly recognised the cover, and it dawned on me that this album has haunted my memories for many years now.
I couldn't put my finger on who it was, this album cover that I keep seeing in my mind, the material within as well, songs that I remember well, but could never pinpoint.
I'm glad after all of the recommendations here that I finally picked up a copy,my dad had this one,and it's a classic,in fact a masterpiece, every song is beautifully crafted.
This album is a true work of art.

Re: WA Argus-------revisited
I heard this for the very first time just a few months ago. I love it too. It's amazing how textured the guitars sound. I get something new out of it each time I hear it.

You could go on about how brilliant it is all day....I've yet to hear any negative comments about it.

The last one I borrowed it said he thought it was great but the singing was a bit to "pathetic" for his taste.

Pathetique ? Nothing wrong with Pathetique!
Highlight of the day:
- guitar solo on Sometime World!

Pathetique is one of my favourite pieces by him. I think all of his piano pieces are brilliant, I like them more than the violin concerts. Pathetique and Moonlight Sonata are some of the best pieces of music every written by anyone.
And of course the closing guitar solo of Sometime World is one of the best guitar solos ever. But there´s so much greatness in that song that it´s not easy to choose any highlights...

Yeah, on Argus each song is a highlight!
My absolute fave piano piece is Moonlight Sonata part 3. That's rock'n roll!!

Yeah, that´s the very fast one! I´m still waiting for Jon Lord to spontanously insert that into one of his solos, that´d be fantastic!

I'd agree to a certain extent. They're lacking a strong, distinctive vocalist IMO.
