Well got your point, though.

Well, Britain's just weird! (You probably knew that already.) When Rahul gets here he'll probably explain things a lot better than I can!

To me Colchester is still in the south even though it's north of Chelmsford, Newcastle is so far north in England and Scotland is so sparsely populated that they both fit in the same regional description really.

I have still to get a copy as I have been meaning to. All I have heard is 'blowin' free'. One of these days I'll get off my big backside.

Argus is a great album. I bought their first album too a few weeks ago, and this might be sacrilege to Rahul and Milan, but I really think it's better than Argus.

I don´t see a problem, as Rahul always used to say:"It´s in every bit the same legaue". That said it´s possible that someone happens to like the debut a bit better than Argus, although I personally like Argus a bit better!emoticon

But of course, the debut has fantastic tracks on it like Lady Whiskey Errors of My Ways and the gigantic Phoenix.

Not sacrilege at all. I love their first album and could see why some might like it better. It's my second fave by the band. The difference is like In Rock and Machine Head. Both are fabulous and not much to choose between them!

Glad you like the album Nighthawk, and thanks for posting the link emoticon

I prefer Ash to Lizzy, not just bcause they used that twin-guitar sound first, but because I prefer their harmonies and song-writing.

Argus may be dripping with guitar solos, but they never forgot the need for quality song-writing either. That's why the album workds for me. It could easily have become an excercise in the guitar solo, but instead it is full of imagery, moods and melody. And the quality of the musicians is exemplary. The bass, the drums, the delicate vocals. It's genius.

Give it a few more listens and you'll probably like it even more. The next best albums to get in my opinion is the self-titled debut, and then There's The Rub which was their fifth.

As for Newcastle and Scotland, all I will say is that the Geordies and Scots get on great with each other. When I was living in Greece, I met about 15 Hibernian fans (in Greece for the UEFA up) in a bar. When they realised I was a Geordie they all came over, bought me drinks, I got talking to them, and ended up drinking with them all night. It was great. emoticon

Cheers Rahul. If we Scots get enough to drink, we'll get on well with anyone!! Image

I have to say I really enjoyed last night - a new (to me) CD to listen to, Celtic thrashing Anderlecht on TV, and a few beers to chill out to! Doesn't get much better that that!
