Re: Joe Satriani talks about Deep Purple
What the hey - I came across this thread/topic with the link in it to our own intrepid friend Rahul's interview with Joe Satriani! Seems like a good time for a {bump} & finally, a {sticky}.

He did say he'd think about joining a band again if he thought it was right!
All they have to do is ask!

Re: Joe Satriani talks about Deep Purple
I've only heard one DP gig with Satriani on guitar and it was very good indeed. He played an interesting mixture of following RB's original recorded parts and then his own licks. And like RG and others praised him, he really bothered to play all the rhythm stuff with presicion.

I like your answer man, don't you know that your interview with Vai has given us the hard rock fans a flicker of hope.
DEEP PURPLE Mark IX
Steve Vai
Ian Gillan
Roger Glover
Don Airey
Ian Paice
Don't you know that this lineup could be a ressurrection of the mighty Deep Purple, this lineup could raised the moral of a desperate and hopeless Purple fans!!! This lineup could be the answer to all our problems Rahul don't you know that you have renewed the interest of fans who are losing interest in the current Purple
Go out there my son and interview Gary Moore, Michael Schenker, Ronnie Montrose, Uli Jon Roth, Eric Johnson, etc. and ask 'em if they wanna join the legendary hard rock pioneer Deep Purple.

I have the "Emptiness, Eagles and Snow" bootleg w/Satch and while the sound quality isn't the best, the performance from all involved is spectacular!
