Joe's best work

Argue with me then; which is better:

Difficult To Cure
Straight Between The Eyes
Bent Out Of Shape
Slaves and Masters

I'd say Straight Between The Eyes.

And what have JLT done that might be better than this?

I don't know...

Personally I'd say SBTE is among his weakest work. Bent Out Of Shape is a much more cohesive album - they'd finally achieved the sound that Blackmore was searching for, the songwriting was top-notch and it's one of Joe's better performances.

I haven't followed Joe's career since as closely as some, but for me the 2 HTP albums have eclipsed everything else that I've heard.

With Rainbow I'd probably say Bent Out Of Shape although Difficult To Cure is not too bad either. Solo-wise Hurry Up And Wait and his latest, JLT, are my faves. Yngwie's Odyssey and the last Brazen Abbot album (where he's featured on 4 tracks) are also well worth having IMO.

If we're not speaking about Rainbow here then Joe's best records are:
Malmsteen - Odyssey
Mother's Army- Planet Earth and Fire at the Moon.
Solo - Undercover 1&2, Hoy Man, Slam
Brazen Abbot - Guilty as Sin
HTP -both

Bent Out Of Shape is a great album. Definitely his best with Rainbow. Difficult To Cure was excellent, ant SBTE had its moments I guess, but the third is still me favourite!

His work with Malmsteen was pretty good too, and his vocals with Mothers Army and on that first HTP album are proably his finest that I have heard!
