Chatty Pancake... all the way from Saigon

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of meeting up with another forum member, Chatty Pancake.

He sent me an e-mail, saying hello from Beaverton OR, and although I've been quite busy lately, I did get a chance to hook up with him before he headed back to Saigon where he lives with his family.

We had an hour or two to disuss Purple, and shoot the breeze.
Dave is a very humble guy, and seems to be mostly focused on Blackmore and his days in Rainbow, so we talked about that, and some other common interests.

Beaverton is about 20 minutes on the freeway, so it wasn't but a fairly short hop.

Chatty, if you're out there, I hope you had a safe flight.

It's five weeks and one day after GM's post, but I had a good time with him, too. He gave me a ton of goodies, including a "Bent Out Of Shape" tour book and some Rainbow 45s.

Goodies or no goodies, it was cool to meet up with him and just talk for a while.

So I've met two cool people over the internet so far - GM and my sweet, sweet Vietnamese wife. The latter is a lot prettier, but the former speaks better English.

Hope to see you next year, GM. Again, thanks for everything.
