Teaser to be Remastered
Just saw this on DPAS:
On the anniversary of Tommy Bolin's death, we can at least (and at last) confirm that an upgraded version of his debut solo album 'Teaser' is on the cards. At present it is very much under wraps, but we can say that it is to be upgraded beyond anyone's wildest dreams. Keep an eye on the site.
It's funny I was just thinking about this earlier today...before I saw this....And I was thinking about that computer version that the TBA did...that's not really remastering in my eyes. Also I thought the masters were lost for this but maybe not. The original CD is pretty bad, just try turning up the volume on Dreamer....there really is none. It's great news. Private Eyes sounds real good on CD but maybe they will do that one too.

Finally! I have "Private Eyes" on CD and it is good, but I can't find "Teaser". Can you imagine how good TB would be today if he were still with us?!

Those were overdue, if you ask me. Tommy´s only two proper solo releases on CD with great sound...yeah!!!

Well, the japanese Private Eyes CD sounds AWESOME so I don't really think it needs any remastering. Unlike Teaser CD which simply blows.

I think the normal Private Eyes Cd release was well done...very good sounding CD...But Teaser's horrible.

the news about the remaster of Teaser has been updated on 29.06.2005.
The "Tommy Bolin Master Series" will include three CDs full of goodies.
it leaves me with some questions:
- what label is working on this "master Series"?
- three CDs: Teaser (obviously), Private Eye (i guess), and ....??? or it is a 3-CDs remaster of Teaser alone ??
- i sense some grudge against TBA. Quote: "The TBA are reacting by recycling some of their old material on another compilation." why?
- release date?

Yes, there might be a grudge between the DPAS and the Bolin archives.
When "This Time Around" came out, the TBA raised a big stink because they originally were out of the loop...so they worked out a deal where the CD came out on the TBA label in the states as opposed to the label for the rest of the world. This whole business held up the release of the CD for a while too, I believe!
If this is to be a 3-CD series, maybe they can put the original version of "Post Toastee" on there. According to the booklet in the "Ultimate" box set, the version of Post Toastee which appears on "Private Eyes" was edited down from a take which ran twice as long as what we now hear.
Yes! Let's hear it!
