Who uses Line 6 gear?
I've messed about with a few multi effects processors in the past and found them all to sound really artificial and cheap, so I tend to avoid using them. I don't find fx pedals to be that great either 'cos they're too cumbersome. Is Line 6 gear as good as they say it is? The reason I ask is, I'm looking for something compact for portability but versatile and simple to use. I'm not convinced that Line 6 is the answer, but I could be wrong. Any opinions or alternatives?

Re: Who uses Line 6 gear?
My friend who plays guitar has Line 6 PODxt, hooked up to his stereos.
He thinks it's great, but some new software upgrade messed something and it's clipping now.

Don't think I like the sound of that.

Re: Who uses Line 6 gear?
IMO most Line6 products works best at LOW volume or with headphones / a stereo device. When you cranck it up you can hear it's an 'all plastic product', despite Line6 try hard to make that 'problem' go away I don't think that it will ever happen.
If you're looking for the sound of a 'real' guitar you can forget about not just Line6 but multi effects processors in general ...

I'm using the original version of the POD and it's great for bedroom playing through my stereo or a low wattage amp.
I'ts good enough for me and sounds just fine when recorded.

I use a line 6 flextone II. Its great, u can get great gain without cranking up a valve amp.

Bloody expensive though. Decided against using Line 6 (far too fiddly, widdly), now looking at Roland/Boss. Any suggestions?

Re: Who uses Line 6 gear?
I use the Line6 Flextone II with a Marshall Cabinet.
I have to say that buying that gear was the best investment I ever made. I used Line6 gear on the new CL album, straight through the desk. It doesn't sound artificial to me at all. Never had any problems with the amp whatsoever and it all transfers perfectly to the live shows too.
Highly recommended IMHO

Re: Who uses Line 6 gear?
I tried all sorts of gear over the past few months (Line6, Roland, Zoom, Korg) and finaly settled on a Boss GT-6. Its a multi FX processor/modeller that can be programmed with user defined patches. Great for experimenting and emulating. Compared to the fiddly little PocketZoom I had, well there's just no comparison. The GT-6 is like an instrument in itself. Highly recommended****, only 4 stars, cos I can't get it to work via the effects loop on my amp.

Re: Who uses Line 6 gear?
I use a zoom multi effect bass processor (708II), it works well enough I supose, can't complain about it, but I've gone back to the clean bass sound for most stuff now. It now functions as a a flashy and expensive tuner.
