Jon Lord's contribution to "Bananas" © 2003

I think in the credits I read Jon's name on "Got Your Number" plus a few more songs.

Does that mean he was the one who was actually playing instead of Don Airey, or that he collaborated on the song writing, but didn't play?

JL isn't mentioned in the musicians' credits, so those have to be writing credits only.

I Got Your Number and Picture Of Innocence off Bananas record were both concieved during the little known 2001 writing sessions at Steve's home in Florida.

There could be more songs written at that time but only these two made it to the album.

Anybody could elaborate on the behind-the-scenes story of the making of the 2001 album that actually was never released? Why did they stop writing, why didn't they go into the studio with what they already had? I got Your Number was performed as Up the Wall live in Feb 2002 during the JL farewell tour. It wasn't that bad, so what happened that they didn't record the album???

Maybe they didn't wanna go in studio because Jon was about to leave the band?
Let Airey get a bit warm before recording with him? Guess guessing...

Whatever the case may be..."Up The Wall" should never have been toyed with...as it turned into a bad idea to layer it to infinaty and back. emoticon
