Re: What about the cancer rumour?
I never heard about this until I just read this thread about 10 mins. ago.
So glad I was able to read Jon's statement of reassurance at the same time as I read the claim....as I would have been otherwise rather shocked and upset by it.
Ethical journalism....now there's an oxymoron for the ages. Lest we all remember there is no such thing as objective reporting, as the people who get hired on with the publications are human, are opinionated, and fall to the temptations of breaking truth and rules for the chance to turn profit out of sensationalism.
Sad day indeed...but then Keys 1 came in to report the truth and now....

With all due respect, the article, which is norwegian, does not really make any big point, or headlines (at all) out of the false rumours. It's just mentioned as a reason Jon Lord ain't touring with Purple these days. The source for that information is well protected, though...

Re: What about the cancer rumour?
Atle,
You're right...In all fairness, I couldn't read the article so I didn't know the exact depth to which the claims had gone. I just read the responses of the other members and based my response on those. Maybe I shouldn't have done that, so thanks for clarifying that point.

Re: What about the cancer rumour?
Actually the article is a pretty fine one, saying a lot of great things about Deep Purple, and what a feast it is everytime they play in Norway - which it is.
On some facts the writer is totally on his own though, like where and when DP played in Norway last time, and the reason Jon Lord ain't joining the band these days...
