Jon Lord in St. Wendel
The St. Wendel show was really great.
Jon and all musicians played a great show in a small venue - it was just amazing. They played nearly three hours with a "Pause" (as Jon said) from 20 minutes.
here is the setlist:
Setlist Jon Lord & The Gemini Orchestra
St. Wendel, 29.9.2004
01 Sarabande
02 I´ll Send You A Postcard
03 Before I Forget
04 Wait A While
05 Cologne Again
06 Pavane
07 Gigue
--
08 Pictured Within
09 A Smile When I shook His Hand
10 Evening Song
11 Unsquared Dance
12 November Calls
13 The Telemann Experiment
14 De Profundis
--
15 Music For Miriam
16 Way With the Fairies (Sam Brown Solo)
17 Bouree
The highlights for me were Gigue, De profundis and Bouree and Miller Anderson singing Pictured Within.

Re: Jon Lord in St. Wendel
Great! Glad you enjoyed it. Looks like a brilliant setlist.
Did he play organ (and synths) as well or just piano?

Re: Jon Lord in St. Wendel
He played no synths but he played a Hammond B3 sometimes - during Gigue he started a Hammond solo in his typical way it was unbelievable and the moment before he started he took his glasses off and stand there as with Deep Purple in this typical Lord-way I cannot describe it better, it was great. I only can say: go and see him live with this musicians. dd

I´d love to but Wishbone Ash are playing here the same day and I´m afraid the munich gig is sold out anway, so I´ll have to miss it.

Re: Jon Lord in St. Wendel
I can´t describe how much I love Jon´s music Pictured Within, Beyond The Notes and Sarbande...but...eh-eh-Wishbone Ash!!!
And if it´s sold out I can´t do anything anyway. It would have been tomorrow, but it isn´t. If there´d be a way I´d die to see Jon again(after 6 years!) but I´m afraid there is no way...

Re: Jon Lord in St. Wendel
You should not die - but go and look for a ticket tommorrow and Wishbone Ash you can see in the summer in a little tent or somewhere else. - I don´t have anything against WA, but the Lord concert was so fine.

Re: Jon Lord in St. Wendel
I don´t think there is one...and I also don´t think I missed the last chance to see Jon again...but there´s no way on earth I´d give WA a miss...despite...no, no way. The only way would be me having a ticket for the show in munich already, but it doesn´t look like I can get one...Arrrgghh, it´s the same day and it´s Wishbone Ash! !@#$...

Re: Jon Lord in St. Wendel
This sounds too good for me to miss, Kartenhaus says Cologne is sold out but Munich is still "processing" so there's a (faint) glimmer of hope for me.
So Milan, if I can get a ticket for Munich then I'll still go whether you do as well or not. I'm also looking into the possibilty of Berlin but I've never been there before so I'm holding out for Bavaria's capital.

Re: Jon Lord in St. Wendel
I´m starting to belive that processing means:"In the process of being sold out"
Kartenhaus says you can order only with a credit card anymore. Well, that´s it I guess...
Someone who got a ticket for the show in munich a week ago said that back then only a very few seats were left.
