What keys does Jon play at home?

I've often wondered whether Jon has any sort of set-up at home.

I don't doubt he must have a beautiful grand piano in a music room in his home to play and compose with, but wonder whether he has any other keyboards set up at home to play around with.

Most of all I wonder, having bequeathed his long-gigged Hammond C3 to Purple, does he have a B3 or C3 at home ( maybe with a few fewer scratches on it? ) to play around with and / or Jam with his musician friends?

And whatever happend to all those ARPs from earlier Purple days and his Whitesnake era Moogs and the Hohner Clavinet?

Anyone out there with any insight?

Re: What keys does Jon play at home?

First off,

I'd guess that he probably has more than one retreat that he likes to call "home". In at least one of them, I'd imagine a grand piano, as those are ultimate living room show pieces.

If he has a Hammond, it would probably be in a more utilitarian part of the home, not front and center near the front door. And it may not even be at his main residence.

Any other gear, that wouldn't readily decorate a home per sey, his clavs, moogs, ARP's, parted out Leslies, Hammonds, etc. are probably at a separate music studio or some other space that he may rent or own.

I'd imagine that when you play music professionally, it isn't always the best idea to bring all your toys into the house. For him, music is not a hobbie, it's his livelyhood, and he probably doesn't need all the reminders of his work staring him in the face 24/7. What little time he has to spend at home, he probably prefers to get away from music...or at least the equipment aspect of it. If he's been immersed in the culture for 40 plus years, I don't think he'd be nearly as enthusiastic about making his summer home look like a Guitar Center, even though that's what some of us might dream of.

These are all just my guesses, none of it is substantiated with fact.

I think that was a piano he bought from Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie and later sold to Shirley Bassey, something like that. -Or was it the other way around ? emoticon

As I had said, a piano in a home is understandable, and probable, but tons of other electronics, I'd bet he has a separate place for those.
