posticon BTN live DVD

I got it yesterday, Whew !!!!!
First screen impressions,
it's grrrreat !
Another Setlist than St. Wendel, but probably also cut short (still 130 min, but I don't remember if they done "Miriam"/"Wait-a-while"/"Before I forget" in Cologne or not; on the DVD it isn't - OTOH we have the Nickel harp on the Telemann Experiment and we get Anni-Frid Lygnstad on special Guest Star Vocals, so what more, ah yes, Mr Lord plays two instruments....)
Impressive Sound, great pics.
Nice Bonuses, 20 min interview (it's a video cut down version from the 50+ min audioversion on the BtN Press Kitt,
The four best Numbers from Sarabande,
Great vocals by Miller and Sam, Frida sings live,
a superb piano, and the old Organ screams.
Only Euphoria now,
Probably more details next week.
Well, As Always:
Praise the Lord !
And, pleaze, don't let us wait another five years after the February Tour, Jon...
Hartmut
...and wouldn't it be an absolute thriller to put Gigue into the encore before Bourée, an organ solo for us old warhorses so-to-say ????

Well, first of all to clear that up - there's absolutely no pop-music in there,in fact it's all "crossical-class over". emoticon
Seriously, great musicians these Trondheim soloists and what caught my attention after the first viewing were Gigue with it's fantastic organ solo which reminded me of the old live shows, that nice Emilia Amper who played the keyed fiddle and the percussive bits in Cologne Again.Sam Brown,Frida and Miller A. are singing with impressive voices.
Also great that Jon always fits out his DVD's with a personal interview,I like that.
Sound and picture quality are superb.
A very good DVD.

besides all the great music the 'Making of...' & the interview are wonderful...
The Trondheim Soloists are the string section... the band is Jon's touring
group and they 'rock' the 'crossical class-over' emoticon

of course the 'Sarabande' pieces
are among my favorites as well...
hope they'll also do the Capriccio in the future.

they did 'Miriam' & 'Wait A While' in Cologne, but didn't make it onto the dvd.
