Re: Deep Purple - Ostrava 1991
Anyway, back to the topic, I have this show on DVD and PAL video. I live in DVD REGION 1 land so the video is no good to me. The tape was converted for me and now it is just sitting.

Re: Deep Purple - Ostrava 1991
i saw the DVD-r on EBAY.com and i was gonna buy it but the seller wanted over 30$! what a !@#$ rip off! selling unofficial recordings isn't allowed (in the rules where we trade GNR dvd-r's...)
i've bought some, and the price was 10$ each DVD including shipping which was ok... the seller didn't want to earn anything on it, just to get the recording out to the fans... the money covered the price of the DVD-r and the shipping...
it's dumb when sellers earn a lot of money on ebay by making new copies every time... sux a lot...
i'm interested in that DVD, but don't have any DP stuffg to trade or anything like that...
oh well...

Re: Deep Purple - Ostrava 1991
For a televised show I would have thought that the quality of this show would have been better. I am sure if someone got a "pure" copy it would be fine. Maybe I am just expecting more when I see were the shot originated. This is a re copyed version of the show, seems to have a couple of edits in it but on the whole it does not appear to be different from the CD copy I have of this show, which I got years earlier.

Re: Deep Purple - Ostrava 1991
I can't stand shows that are pro shot with
no idea who Deep Purple is and don't work with them on how the performance will be taped as far as who to focus on at certain
times during the show, not that Purple have ever gone the full nine when it comes to TV shoots but the best ones are always the ones where you can tell they had atleast some directional input, this show sucks from a filming standpoint and the performance is
less than spectacular to say the least.
As I already said, there has got to be a better filmed concert from this tour,if there isn't then all hope is lost as far as footage from this rare period.
I wonder if the footage of the show with the abstract effects is any better,I can't recall where it was taped.

Budapest was filmed too and aired in Hungarian TV. But I have never seen a good copy, I only have a bad quality video...

Right mate how is the performance though???
I believe the one with the abstract effects is the show from Radio City Music Hall
New York but I'm not positive,if it is then it's probably the best one around
just assuming so because of reports I've heard of the performance being a very good one.

Re: Deep Purple - Ostrava 1991
I watched the video last years ago, so I don't remember if the performance is better or worse than Ostrava. I'll check it when I have time. Budapest is not a complete show, only one hour I think...
