Concerto '69 DVD and CD
I've seen a DVD and CD combination of the Concerto. I was wondering if the CD is the complete works, i.e. is it the remastered version? Has anyone seen this combo? What do you know about it?

Re: Concerto '69 DVD and CD
I read in the "Darker Than Blue" magazine that the re-mastering of the New CD was botched up and a few minutes actually left off. The only complete CD of the show is still the old one issued years ago.

No edits appear to be on the Remastered 2002 cd release. However, there are minor timing differences between the 2002 cd release and the 1990 release.
See: http://www.deep-purple.net/qanda/qanda.htm
The DVD has some minuts edited off, just like the VHS tape or the original TV broadcast, anyway.

Re: Concerto '69 DVD and CD
Yes there is a DVD-A of this but you will have to watch were you get it from. I ordered it through the DPAS and could not play it because it came up as a PAL DVD. Even thought it stated on the back that it was playable in all regions.

Re: Concerto '69 DVD and CD
Region coding doesn't say anything about the contents of the disc, only that it will not be 'locked' in certain regions.
Isn't DVD-A DVD-Audio? What does PAL have to do with that? Is there also visual stuff on it?

Re: Concerto '69 DVD and CD
Yes, that was my original thought too!! Audio is audio, well apparently it is not. Since it is in the DVD format they (the record companies) can still limit the release date and time by region formating. Another draw back to the DVD-A format. Now as far as I can find out the SACD format does not do this. Again audio is audio on this format. As for your question about video, yes there is something there on the DVD-A but I don't recall what nor was I able to access it. Also I wasn't answerng your queston on content I was answering FLIGHT's question on DVD-A

Re: Concerto '69 DVD and CD
As long as it is DVD, the industry can region code the thing. What I find interesting is what the visual content of the disc is, since in my opinion Audio is not necessarily mixed with Video and PAL is a video standard... Why weren't you able to access it? Are you in America where it's NTSC or France (Sécam) or something?
