Re: Burn DVD audio

SACD can be played in you cd player and for that it is atleast worth getting cause you can listen to it,however you will not get the effect that was intended because it,like
DVD Audio is a 6 chanell recording.

Your DVD player won't play DVD Audio unless you have a DTS or 5.1 decoder.(and speakers)
But the 5.1 still won't give you the full effect, you have to have 6.1 DTS for that.

Note that if you have a DVD movie or concert for instance that is mixed in 5.1 or 6.1 DTS you can't view it with it's intended effect unless you have the decoder
but it will play, just not to it's intended effect which is a far superior and much more enjoyable experience and I don't mean simulated surround,I mean it's a completely different mix, allowing the fully opened
sound effect, the same thing you get at the movies, sounds coming from every direction vs just each speaker having the same sounds.

It kind of sucks to have to buy the equipment and get it all down but in the end it's worth it.

Re: Burn DVD audio

I got a Home Theater which is ready for SACD and DVD-A, but my DVD players (Pionner) really do not accept DVD-A. It is write at the manual instructions compabilities. But I think that SACD can be worth for me now. I think to buy a new DVD-player/recorded and ready for DVD-A just next year.

Re: Burn DVD audio

I bought my Pioneer in '98 and it was
expensive and I haven't had a problem.
This is because I have the decoder
Another huge detail is
if it says Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS doesen't mean you have it,you you have five speakers and a sub woofer plus the decoder.
If you do then DVD Audio should work.
They say they are ready but they aren't without the decoder.

This is very important to know
otherwise your system is just simulated surround sound,it will come out of all of your speakers but it won't be chanelled
properly.

Re: Burn DVD audio

If anybody is considering purchasing a SACD player they may want to investigate why there is a large spectrum of price difference. Here is the way I understand it. The cheaper players have a cheaper micro processor in them. Now I forget which processor you should look for but if you go to a DENON web page the price for a good processor machine starts around the $600US price range. SONY (the designer of the system) don't have a player yet in this price range. Very strange for the maker not to take advantage of their strangle hold on a market. But maybe SONY learned from their BETA mistake? As for the DVD-A machines, I have not found anyone who states one processor is above and beyond another. Also you may want to stay away from a unit that has everything (DVD-A, SACD). The reason I was told this is because not only are you using your machine to play DVD's (video) but all of your music also. You will end up working one unit very hard as opposed to maybe two or three not working as much. And don't forget about your amplifier, all of this multy channel sourcing puts a large burden (heat) on your equipment. Your amp should be well vented and/or cooled with external fans. The sound is amazing on these new systems, it is just a shame that the record companies are lined up with different manufacturers.
