Re: Bombay dvd
Yes. It was April 8, 1995. I believe that the place was called The Vault. At least that is what it says at the beginning of the DVD.
The sound is good. Gillan sounds pretty good for the most part, except for maybe CIT where the screams aren't too good. Overall a good performance for him. The band itself plays well and Morse hasn't had too much time to get carried away. He hadn't been with the band that long and Purpendicular hadn't been released yet.
It is worth buying.

Don't expect too much professionalism regarding the camera work,it disappoints sometimes.

Re: Bombay dvd
Funny coincidence, I was just watching this one today. I remember being slightly disappointed by it when it came out but all in all it is an essential purchase if you're into Mk 7. The setlist has a couple of TBRO tracks, Purpendicular Waltz, Maybe I'm A Leo and CIT which makes this one refreshing to watch despite the fact that the expert eye can probably tell they hadn't really gelled with Steve yet. Gillan's OK on it, sometimes short of breath but with plenty of great screams scattered throughout(and not just on CIT). The camera work is a bit amateurish compared to the high standards of TA and Perihelion but not too annoying.

Maybe he should know before buying it.
I think it's still worthwhile.
Positive:Great setlist;good performance by the band,Gillan is doing well and the version of WABMC is the best I've ever heard.Just because of that I would buy it again.
Negative:Camera very often ignores single bandmembers when doing a solo, especially with Jon.First time I watched it I was wondering if Jon's only a guest musician. While he plays his fingers off, they show how Steve drys his hand etc.
Next is,the organ is a bit low in the mix, only the XB3 on top of it is on good volume.
And,someone who had witnessed the show said, that the soundmix takes a lot of the true excitement which the show really had -agreed,it sounds a bit flat and weak.

Re: Bombay dvd
yes, steve was shy in the beginning... fun to see how he change, and fits in the band, when you see the other releases the years after ... what a musician

I think that Steve is brilliant on BC,his playing on it is one of my favourites.
But the camera...
