Download and install Bit Torrent- http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html 2. Then when you click on a torrent file the program will launch and ask you where to put the files. Pick a folder like c:\downloads\YourFolderNameHere 3. Once you have the download at 100% keep it open until you have uploaded at least the same amount of data that you downloaded. 4. If you get interrupted you can just re-click the torrent and it figures out where it left off and starts from there. 5. The downloaded files are usually in .FLAC format. You can convert them to .WAV files by using a program called FLAC: http://flac.sourceforge.net/ 6. Once you install FLAC, just add files to it and decode them. (Check the settings to see where it is going to put the .WAV files.) 7. At that point you can listen to the music. Or burn it to a music CD. 8. Or convert the .WAV files to .mp3s if you want to save 90% of the file space. (Just don't trade the mp3s as they lose some of the sound.) To convert .WAV to MP3 use CDEX: http://www.cdex.n3.net/ Again it is a download and install. Pretty easy to use - just use Convert menu and choose F11 option to convert to copressed audio. If you burn mp3 files to data CD's you can get a hundred songs on a disc instead of 12. ( got that one from Kevin...). What software are you useing? i use TMPGEnc dvd author for menu and chapters on allready authored DVDs, and its working fine.nondisclosed_email@example.com (detlef)Fri, 07 May 2004 20:37:28 +0000 Re: Rare Bootleg DVD'shttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p108034,from=rss#post108034https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p108034,from=rss#post108034I failed to mention that I am splicing the Thin Lizzy footage out of the Massey dvd,as I also did with the Beacon show,I also failed to mention that I'm doing this with a serious software program that records frame by frame, the Beacon show took 10 hours to complete, which could be the reason I don't notice any difference in the quality. Then what I do is create nice picture windows for the track by track menus, some of the programs I have, even have moving picture windows,I made one for the Rainbow 77 vcd that I got from you,and it's a very nice dvd,Kevin has one.(good guy) Btw,I didn't like that the taper of the Beacon shows told me that his dvd's had track by track ability, when I would select the next track,it would bo to the middle of the next track. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gillans micstand)Fri, 07 May 2004 20:21:55 +0000 Re: Rare Bootleg DVD'shttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p108033,from=rss#post108033https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p108033,from=rss#post108033Cool, give me a shout once you get that burner and well set something up.... The Toronto dvd is shaping up nicely, and the first night at the Beacon is done,I don't notice any difference in the quality, but you probably would, since you have a better sense of technology than I do. I don't trade dvd's due to not having a burner yet,I do the work accross the river at my brothers house,I would trade using his equipment, but it would be a major hassle,he lives too far away to coordinate it,if only I was laid off from the job, then I would go crazy,I do plan on having a dvd burner no later than July,by then I will be able to get more involved. I already have a bunch of excellent dvd producing software programs, waiting to put to good use.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gillans micstand)Fri, 07 May 2004 20:03:58 +0000 Re: Rare Bootleg DVD'shttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p108031,from=rss#post108031https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p108031,from=rss#post108031If you want to save your self some trouble then skip Toronto, I allready did that one. its still on 2 DVDs as I didn't want to cut back on quality. The Lizzy set is fully seperated from Purps set.
