Re: Hughes/Thrall
i had the album on vinyl years ago.
maybe one of the reasons i never replaced it on cd was because i seem to remember it was not that great.
again from memory, the tracks on burning japan are made to sound better than on the original.

Re: Hughes/Thrall
I love the album! It's not overloaded with killer tracks, but from start to finish, it's just got a great groove and melodic vibe. Hughes' vocals are excellent.
It does sound dated at times, but given the era in which it was recorded, that's understandable. It was certainly fresh back then, and the album's groove has certainly stood the test of time, in my opinion at least.

That´s what I always use do say. If an album was recorded in the 80s, I have no problem with it having an 80s sound.

Re: Hughes/Thrall
A lot of Hughes albums have that affect on me! In fact, SITKOR was the first Hughes album in a while that blew me away on first listen. Everything after Addiction took a few listens first!

Re: Hughes/Thrall
Regarding early H/T gigs with opening acts I just came across a video interview with Malmsteen where he states his first live gig ever in the USA was as a member of STEELER opening for HUGHES THRALL.
