DP LYRICAL ALBUMS Playoffs
Haven't seen playoffs in a long while. I miss them. Let's try this. What is DP's best album lyrically? Again - lyrics only, not the music. Results tallied and second round will commence on Friday.

The problem with those match-ups between 70s and 80s Mk2 albums is that the 70s ones 'sound' better (the percussive value IG has talked about, as well as having more weird allusive meanings) whereas the 80s lyrics are more sophisticated both in terms of arrangements and content.
#8 was also a tough call. But it was the original take on blues lyrics in Mistreated that won it for Burn.

That's very true Rezi. So when it comes to the lyrical part (sans music), the 80's and on albums get an unfair advantage (with the probable exception of Fireball which I suspect would be a finalist in this). The 70's 'percussive' feel to the lyrics is something that I am taking into account. For instance, I rate Living Wreck as having great lyrics, partly because of their allusive and percussive feel.
