Ive got the debut, and Near The Beginning. Rennaissance is next on my wishlist. Will probably get The Beat Goes On eventually so I can have the first four albums.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Rahul)Fri, 28 Jan 2005 14:07:26 +0000 Re: Top 10 psych albums!https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p100152,from=rss#post100152https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p100152,from=rss#post100152Rahul, have you heard Vanilla Fudge's The Beat Goes On? That's what psychedelia SHOULDN'T be! I think it is considered their best, and it is far superior to their second, and perhaps most famous, I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die. Incidentally, rumours are abound (at least in my household) that Country Joe is playing Newcastle this year at some point. Still waiting to confirm that. Will post the UK dates as soon as I find out myself, if anyone else is interested. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Rahul)Tue, 25 Jan 2005 11:19:30 +0000 Re: Top 10 psych albums!https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p100147,from=rss#post100147https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p100147,from=rss#post100147quote:Milan Fahrnholz wrote: quote:Rahul wrote: Also, how could I forget about one of my favourite psychedelic ablums, Gong Bacl To Colorado, by Zephyr. Right now, I'm feeling very let down... nondisclosed_email@example.com (Rahul)Tue, 25 Jan 2005 11:14:01 +0000 Re: Top 10 psych albums!https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p100146,from=rss#post100146https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p100146,from=rss#post100146quote:Rahul wrote: quote:Super Trouper wrote: quote:Rahul wrote: Inspired by a discussion with a talking horse! Is that the Country Joe album with the song Rock and Sould music on it?  Nah, I heard that the BBC was running a "Mr. Ed" marathon on the telly recently. Rahul evidently saw the episode where Ed decided to get into rock music as inspired by a neighbor's teenaged son...he even formed a band with other horses from neighboring ranches.  Just as evidently, Rahul's one of those people that talk to thier tellys while they watch. Not that that's a bad or weird thing or anything...it's just when he gets tals back to him and he acts on any advice he sought or answers to any questions he asked that there might just be a problem. The Stones- Her Satanic Majesties... nah only joking! I'm not sure if many of these would fall under the psychedelia category. Frank Zappa- Freak Out! Traffic- Heaven Is In Your Mind Cream- Fresh Cream Pink Floyd- A Saucerful of Secrets Captain Beyond- ST Yes- Yes I don't know if this counts, maybe it's jazz rock. Deep Purple- Shades of Deep Purple Zeppelin 1 ? The Beatles- Magical Mystery Tour Iron Butterfly- Ina Gadda Da Vida Never actually listened to the whole thing, but the title cut is great, sans the drum solo. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Super Trouper)Mon, 24 Jan 2005 22:57:52 +0000 Top 10 psych albums!https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p100138,from=rss#post100138https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p100138,from=rss#post100138Inspired by a discussion with a talking horse!
