Re: Top 5 guitar solos
Not in any particular order :
Martin Barre - "Aqualung"
Mike Olfdield - "Moonlight Shadow"
Chuck Berry - "Johnn B. Good"
Robert Johnson - "Terraplane Blues" ( well the whole song is like a solo anyway )
Bradley Nowell - "Santeria"
Richie Blackmore - "Highway Star"
So ok it´s 6 !!

Re: Top 5 guitar solos
Okay, this pops up again...then I offer an alternative list of todays (yes, no Blackmore!) favourites:
Like A Hurricane(Neil Young)
Theme From An Imaginary Western(Clem Clempson)
Dogs(David Gilmour)
Phoenix(Andy Powell)
Lines In The Sand(John Petrucci)
Next alternative list can come anytime.

If I'm going to go outside of the Blackmore world, which I find surprisingly very tough to do, I would say Gilmour in Comfortably Numb and Iommi's Lonely Is The Word.

Re: Top 5 guitar solos
I don´t find it tough. If something gets me going it doesn´t matter if it´s Blackers or not, even if he probably does most for me but there are many so different from Blackmore that I also enjoy them in a very different way...oh and as you mention surprise, I don´t know but me it doesn´t surprise at all after a few years of reading your posts.
