"Rabbit's clever," said Pooh thoughtfully.
"Yes," said Piglet. "Rabbit's clever."
"And he has Brain."
"Yes," said Piglet. "Rabbit has Brain."
"I suppose," said Pooh, "that's why he never understands anything."

Deep Purple - Fireball
Led Zeppelin - Led Zepplin IV
King Crimson - Islands
Yes - Fragile
Genesis - Nursey Cryme
Jethro Tull - Aqualung
Wishbone Ash - Pilgrimage
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Emerson, Lake & Palmer
John Lennon - Imagine
Uriah Heep - Salisbury
Nazareth - Nazareth

'71 was a classic simply by virtue of LZIV & Fireball!

Phil :)

Styx, Deep Purple and Iron Maiden - music doesn't get any better than that

Why don´t you just admit that these are the only two you have heard? emoticon

Well, from your list...

Led Zeppelin - Led Zepplin IV (boring)
Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality (hate Ozzy's voice)
Pink Floyd - Meddle (good, not great)
Genesis - Nursey Cryme (pretty good)
Jethro Tull - Aqualung (it's ok)
Wishbone Ash - Pilgrimage (nice, but I get bored with WA after a few plays)
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Emerson, Lake & Palmer (I'm not sure if I've heard this one... is Lucky Man on it?)

Meddle and Nursery Cryme are the "best of the rest", I suppose.

I think that Master Of Reality is musically Black Sabbath´s best album with Ozzy on it. Like him or not, this is full of brilliant riffs and ryhtm figures.
Yeah, Lucky Man s the last track on ELPs first LP.

Neither Nursey Cryme is the best Genesis record nor Meddle the best Pink Floyd one, but they got each of their very best songs on them like Musical Box for Genesis, and Echoes for Pink Floyd and the rest of the songs are at least fine with Nursey Cryme being a bit better.

One thing I can say about 1971 is that everything sounded very good as far as technology finding it's feet by then, recording was at it's precision finest that year.

Quite a year for rock!

Biggest favourites are the records by DP, Sabbath and Little Feat.

It must have been something to be a rock fan back then. But then I think nowdays Popstars, Idols etc. are equally exciting...

Salisbury,Medusa and Colloseum Live are all 1970. 1971's Heep record was Look at Yourself. And what about Paul's RAM? Awesome!
