Top10 ballads/love songs

Which songs are so beautiful that they almost make you cry?

not in any order:

Deep Purple - Soldier of Fortune
Poets of the Fall - Someone Special
Randall Bramblett - When Our Two Worlds Collide
Dream Theater - Anna Lee
Wishbone Ash - Everybody Needs a Friend
King Crimson - Matte Kudasai
Rainbow - Rainbow Eyes
James Gang - Alexis
Tommy Bolin - Hello, Again
Blue Öyster Cult - Then Came the Last Days of May (well, this is not really a love song, but a heart breaking ballad of three unlucky drug dealers)

Of course it's debatable what is a love song or a ballad, but that makes half of the fun. emoticon

And I think my list would be a whole lot different tomorrow.

You know that this is the exact opposite of a love song, don´t you? Still a beautiful one, though.

Yep, not a love song, but a ballad still I would think. And a very beautiful song.

Ballad-ish songs that make me sentimental:

Feel so different -- Sinead
Sacrifice -- Sinead
Dreamer -- Tommy Bolin
Somewhere that's green -- "Little Shop of Horrors"
Arc-en-ciel / Music for Miriam -- Jon Lord
Tears in heaven -- Erkki Clapton
Say you love me -- David Coverdale
Unforgettable -- Natalie Cole + samples of Nat
For sentimental reasons -- (any good jazz singer)
Loneliness -- Big Brother & the Holding Company with Janis Joplin
Son of Alerik -- DP
...

What do they call it? Inter-textualism?

That's one thing I like with Hungry Daze as well...
"we all came out to Montreux,
but that's another song..."
