Re: Buy any new albums lately?

I was in Norwich today and I caved in and spent £30 on vinyl...

Long Live Rock 'n' Roll (original issue, near mint condition, textured gatefold sleeve and complete with lyric sheet)

Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (original, gatefold)

Fireball (original, gatefold, sleeve a bit tatty though)

Machine Head (sadly missing the lyric sheet but in fantastic condition)

Made In Japan (don't know what issue but in good condition)

And Heep's Look At Yourself (El Cheapo reissue without the mirror on the front)

From what I can tell... most live albums are tampered with in some way. Christ, that maybe means that some of Deep Purple's live albums have overdubs and studio trickery added to them!

Some of them do (stand up Nobody's Perfect, there are songs on that one where the solo and the rest of the track come from two different concerts). Still not as much as Zeppelin's though. emoticon

When you say complete with lyrics sheet does that mean there´s an extra sheet like with Machine Head or Fireball? Mine has the lyrics printed on the inner sleeve.

Should be in a gatefold with the pictures of the bandmembers circled around a sun.

Extra sheet, both missing on Fireball and Machine Head alas. emoticon

That it is, I was just unsure because the cover is gold instead of the black of the CD.

You didn´t know that? emoticon

The original LP of MIJ is gold and only the remaster(I think the first CD issue wasn´t) is in black. I´ve bought the vinyl just some months after I got into purple and it´s still the best way to listen to the album IMO. The cuts on the remaster use to incredible annoy me. It´s in brilliant condition except one minor audible scratch just after Gillan started singing CIT.
On my version he starts the song singing:"Sw/ild in time"emoticon

If you´re interested how the lyric sheets of Fireball and Machine Head(with Gillan´s handwriting) look like, I could scan (at least parts) of them and upload them so you could see how they look like(and probably use them as reference!emoticon).

If it's not too much trouble, it'd be interesting to see what they look like. I'm slightly annoyed that my copies were missing theirs but they only cost £5 a piece and both play like new so it's not as if I was ripped off or anything.

I had no idea about the MiJ cover because by the time I'd discovered Purple the remaster was all that was available and there aren't any record stores where I live that sell vinyl LPs that aren't Indie band marketing gimmick editions or dance rubbish, just a record fair at the Shire Hall once in a while and I've only ever seen THOBL at one of those.

No probs, if you can wait half an hour you´ll probably see it. The only thing is that I´ll only be able to display selected parts of them as they don´t fit in the scanner in their whole.

It´s reseized. If you copy it to your desktop you should able to view it in full size.

Thanks, in return here's a side of the LLRNR lyric sheet. emoticon

And before you ask...no, I don't know how to resize it. emoticon
