Anoraks corner, help please from those who know
I have just received a show called Return of the Lords (1cd) featuring Joe Satriani on guitar and dated 20/06/94.There is no record of the show on www.Deep-Purple.nl and listening to the chat between songs there is no clue there either. Can anyone enlighten me?
There is a point in the show where JS does a 2-3 minute fast improvisation with the band backing him.Its superb!!!

take a look here , best tour site there is...
...the fast thingy may very well be "Satch Boogie", they did that one with the band backing JS.

I thought St.Gallen was a 2 disc show. Hmm, better check up the boots.

Re: Anoraks corner, help please from those who know
There are several different versions of the ST. GALLEN show. Some versions have alternat songs on them but the source is all the same. I have never heard of THE RETURN OF THE LORDS (though it does "sound" familure to www.deep-purple.nl 's own recording from a 2001 show?), it doesn't mean that it is not an alternate source but all of the sources so far are a copy of a radio broadcast. Some are two CD's and others just one. The best source of this show is the one with the "water marks" still in place. The only song omitted from the broadcast was the first song HIGHWAY STAR. If your copy of "LORDS" is the same source as the others, it is a shame some people persist on changing titles of already known shows. This causes confusion and is very mis leading to any collector. Now this practice has gone on for years, long before the introduction of the CD-R. But it has become a growing concern since the CD-R revolution. Now anybody (including myself) can lay claim to a show, change the title, do up a little cover and boom, a "new" show for the taking. Enough rambling from me, I will sit back down now and enjoy this web page.
