Parisian !@#$- Killer!!!
Wow!!! Gillan and Sabbath were stunning. I'm just listening to my first Gillan/Sabbath boot- thanks Nighthawk!!!! Gillan singing old Ozzy classics makes me wonder how amazing the band would have been with Big Ian the whole time. The screaming with echo effects is just amazing. I'm enjoying War Pigs. Great stuff!!!!!!

Re: Parisian !@#$- Killer!!!
Totally agree. I have the Chicago and Reading gigs, and Ian's vocals are just demonic. Fabulous! Sometimes I wished he had been this heavy during the reunion a year later!

Re: Parisian !@#$- Killer!!!
I've just realised that posting a bouncing tigger wasn't really appropriate to a Black Sabbath boot post, but what the hell! Anyway, War Pigs works really well with Ian. One of my favs.
Hypothetical question for Rahul - If IG had joined Deep Purple FROM Black Sabbath back in 19umtyping (ie having come from a real hard rock background as opposed to Episode Six) would there have been less friction with RB who was just heading that direction.......???? Just an idle thought.... my instinct is that IG needs more than just one kind of musical outlet/expression, but Fireball might have been a very different LP.... maybe??!!

Re: Parisian !@#$- Killer!!!
I just got hold of that boot as well. By crikey can he sing. What happened to his voice between this and the reunion? particularly thinking of Absence of Pink - his voice is shot
Great performance - although my mate who's a die-hard Ozzy fan wasnt convinced by the ozzy covers. I think they're great coz Ozzy's voice does my head in

I love the Gillan-era Sabbath. Especially live. They were just awesome!

Re: Parisian !@#$- Killer!!!
I think Ian sounded so good during his Sabbath stint simply because he was having too much fun, no responsibility, no inner band tension, no reuion expectations to live up to etc. Plus he could see the end in sight as well. Stuff like War Pigs and Heaven And Hell have not sounded better IMHO since (bar their original versions of course).

Re: Parisian !@#$- Killer!!!
I agree about War Pig's
Heavan And Hell is another story.
And as for the original's goes
no way could I ever think that
the original War Pig's even
comes close to Gillan's version.
Mind you I travelled to see the Reading gig and
oh my God was it phenomenal.
Dio's version of War Pig's is the worst I have
heard out of all the Sabbath Singer's.
