To be clear, the mistakes are in the show in quistion 1, not on the DVD....so all you have to think off is in what show did the band and/or their gear mess up 3 times...hint, hint, highwaystar!
1) Esbjerg '96
2a) Gillan introduces Highway Star as the Finale, it ain't.
2b) Bass missing at several points within the first few
minuttes.
2c) Gillan messes up the lyrics at 1:36 and 2:27

Re: Popquiz, hotshot!
1)Esbjerg 31-06-1996
2a) Ian Paice started off the beat for Woman From Tokyo, but was stopped by Gillan. "No, no, no", he said,
2b) had a little conference after which Paice started it off once more.
2c) nobody gonna take my car, I'm gonna break the speed of sound". Mind you, he repeated this 4 times and made it fit the original melody line all the way through!
2d) (but he also messed it up in verse 1)

Re: Popquiz, hotshot!
So, the bloopers:
2a) Ian Paice started off the beat for Woman From Tokyo, but was stopped by Gillan. "No, no, no", he said,
Funny, from where I was standing I though it was JL who called Paicy to a halt, years later the boot proved me wrong!
2c) nobody gonna take my car, I'm gonna break the speed of sound". Mind you, he repeated this 4 times and made it fit the original melody line all the way through!
YES! And dont forget the way he waltzed across the stage while singing it!! I though Rog was gonna lose it, he was laughing so hard!!
But what about 2b you ask? I checked at the Star, and theres only the sligtest hint of this in the archives. before SIFLS there was set up two acoustic guitars, you know on holders, so one can play them, even if having another guitar ( or bass!! ) around your neck. Anyway, they did NOT work, roadies back and forth, nothing helped, and the band went straight into SIFLS. To this day I do not know if The Aviator was planned, or if a acoustic duel intro to SIFLS was the deal.
This was a vey special night for me, I came prepared to hear crap ( no blackes, I was that stupid ), and went home from the best gig by any band I had ( or for that matter: have ) ever seen. I heard WABC for the first time ever that night, and the share beauty of the music moved me to tears. Ahh memorylane!
Anyway, Mr. Snip, you'll have your disc soon...( I owe you those discs as well, fancy Birmingham 2003 to come along? ).

The shows I saw in '96 they did the double accustic guitar thingy for SIFLS. I should've listened to the whole show, but your "hint" got me focusing on Highway Star.
