Who here has yet to hear ROTD?

Just curious. Interested in more perspectives on the album from some of the hold-outs. If I remember correctly, Ed and Alistair have yet to hear it. Anyone else. If so, any plans to hear and review it (no matter how glowing or how scathing)?

Yeah I've still never listened to it. I doubt I will bother buying it either. Sadly, Purple really have stopped doing it for me these days (well this current incarnation anyway). T'is a shame.

How could they stop doing it for you, if you haven't heard the new CD

Coz I thought Abandon and Bananas on the whole were crap. Twice bitten, never a third time perhaps. To be honest, I am not a big fan of the Morse-era albums. Saying that though Purpendicular was very good. But one out of four isn't enough really.

Well... Machine Head, Burn, Fireball, Come Taste The Band, In Rock etc. That help?

Because this fan forum has always been for fans of any Purple line-up, not necessarily the current one. If there were rules about having to like the current Purple, then a forum circa 1990-1992 would have been very empty, wouldn't it? emoticon

I thought Stormbringer and CTTB were crap when I first heard them as well. CCTB is these days listenalbe much more so than in 1976, while Stormbringer still maintains crap level for me. Either way your call...and loss

I've only heard a bit on the radio but it sounded pretty good. I think I might get it eventually. Having said that, I'm of the opinion that they aren't really Deep Purple anymore.

Yeah I'm not convinced that it is Deep Purple any more either...

No, no plans to review it here - yet. I still gotta put one together about Dave Thompson's "Smoke On The Water" book! emoticon
I will say that I found approximately half of "Rapture of The Deep" to be what I like to hear from Deep Purple...the other half...well...
