What happened to Vandenberg-The Band?
I was just wondering, does anybody knows what happened to the rest of the band "Vandenberg"?
I actually was a fan of them when they released their first album (and 2nd and 3rd).It was quite a good band.I think I will give those Lp's a spin!

Can't help you with your question, but I do have one Vandenberg album on vinyl. Can't say I liked it much. Sounded a bit cheap n' nasty. Whitesnake did that whole hair metal thing a lot lot better.

Re: What happened to Vandenberg-The Band?
The status of Vandenberg is quite unclear to me. The did reunite, have released a 'new' album, meaning they rerecorded a few old ones and pressed it on a silver platter with unreleased songs. There is supposed to be a DVD release in the near future, but if the band will hold... Your guess is as good as mine.

Allright...I'd be curious to see that "new" album...I've seen a couple of "Best Of" released on cd, but since I have all three Lp's...
But if there's new material coming out, I shure will give it a try!

The new Vandenberg
I don't know where you're from, so this is the link to the American amazon, though I think it's a pricey disc...
Have fun.

Re: What happened to Vandenberg-The Band?
Yes...Thanx a lot.I've seen that one in stores. But having the 3 Lp's...I don't think I'm enough of a fan to go for the demos!
Too bad they didn't record some brand new material. It seems to me like A.Vandenberg hasn't done much after WS (except for Manic Eden)...
Is he in the current WS line-up BTW????????

Re: What happened to Vandenberg-The Band?
Nope, he's not in the current Whitesnake. He did do the Starkers In Tokyo DVD/CD. But in between this cd and Manic Eden he has been busy with the Dutch version of Idols (trust me, you don't wanna know). Ok, if you're really masochistic try and find Sita or K-Otic on the Net, but be afraid...

Re: What happened to Vandenberg-The Band?
If you like some nice old Vandenberg work you should try Teaser. It's the band he was in before he started Vandenberg. It's a little Bad Company-like.

Re: What happened to Vandenberg-The Band?
I've heard about Teaser but never actually heard it.I've looked on Amazon but it's out of stock...
I don't think I will try the "Idols" thing or any other obscure stuff he might be up to!
I'm currently listening to "Heading for a storm"(vandenberg second album), and have to admit it's still good but got a few rinkles And definitly some cheesy refrains!

Re: What happened to Vandenberg-The Band?
I bought that new best-of. The old songs do sound better to my ears, but I think the demos are a waste of space. They sound pretty close to the final version. The inclusion of the live songs is cool.
Three versions of Burning Heart seemed a little much, but they're ok.
I love all three Vandenberg studio albums. Adrian's playing, especially the classical touches, helped to save the music from being rather generic.
I recently picked up the Live In Japan '84 concert on DVD, but haven't watched it yet. Other than that, there isn't much available. I'd love to see them reform for another go-round.
