Re: Tony Martin Sacked from M3
Didn't say I did,get a clue about how to interpate my English, before you give me any more of this nonsense.
Answer this simple question to get a grip on my statement;
Have you ever seen the video for
The Burning Heart by Vandenberg????
If so,whwere did you see it and just how long ago????
I only made the simple reference
"I don't know how old you guys were
in 81 or 82" because it happens to have been a long time ago,and I myself haven't seen that video since the mid 80's,it's not exactly new you know!
Besides Christos,I don't remember addressing you in particular about the Vandengerg singer,it was Bobbi and BigJ.
It certainly helps to know certain things about music of a time when someone who comments about it,wasn't there to witness it in it's time.
Thats about all there is to read into any of my comments about age.
Experience has a solid edge in the history of rock,it doesn't mean you can't catch up,but it still has a major significance.
You certainly have a talent for reading between my lines!
A grain of salt may help once in a while.

I didn't know there was rule like that in this forum (private discussion/thread). You must be following it a lot better than I do, what can I say.
And yes, I have seen the Burning Heart video (and have all the Vandenberg albums). I still fail to see (and more importantly hear) the resemblance.

Re: Tony Martin Sacked from M3
You may have grown with them and seen him get further away from the resemblance, whilst probably forming his own
identity,to help you come to that conlusion.
I definetly likened him to Coverdale all those years ago, however it was just that one song,so I could see how others who may follow or atleast be exposed further, see it differently.
(if I saw it recently,I might think otherwise)
Btw,there is no rule, just pointing it out since you took things in the wrong direction
because of your impending desire to concentrate on your dislike for my occasional tendancy to make certain references that you tend to take way out of context, more than what I wrote.
--------------
Excuse me if I'm not exactly a glam fan,
why should I care what men who play music look like anyway????
I don't eeeeven put image anywhere in the
frame of music, sometimes I may comment about it,but it's most definetly in response to someones forthright mention of it's importance.

MTV used to air the video for
The Burning Heart,if that singer wasn't impersonating Coverdale then I must have been seeing and hearing things.
That's all in the ear of the beholder. Besides I don't see what that has to do with it. Did he get to work with Thin Lizzy because the sounded like Gary Moore? Did Vai sound like Bernie Marsden? Etc, etc.

You're wrong Bobbi, you need to "get a clue how to interpate(?!) his English" (copyright Gillans micstand 2004), just like I do. Obviously.

Wow! Very frank!!
When Jorn was with them they played Holland billed as 'The world famous hard rock group WHITESNAKE'. No mention of 'The Snakes' as they were called that day. At that moment I thought: what's up with that? Why the f*ck are they billed as world famous... Every one knows that! Needless to say I did not go. Heard I missed a good show with a singer that sounded uncomfortably much like DC!
To get back to the story, The Snakes blamed the bill mix-up on the venue, not them. In light of Russia, now I wonder...
